And the Winner is. . .

And the Winner is. . . Today 4th grade investigated the Electoral College and the voting process. We held our own elections and decided on the most important issues. We even debated the issues.
I was surprised by the issues the 4th graders feel were important and contributed to their decision. A few were: taste (of course), amount of carbonation, health, packaging, safety, price, shelf-life (expiration date), and ingredients in each. Each student was given a state (or two) to represent and serve as the elector. It was amazing the to see how frustrated they were with the number of electoral votes they were allotted per state. Students participated in a blind taste test, and collected data on the issues they felt were important for them to make an informed decision. We used an interactive map that shows the electoral college results as each state is selected. The race was tight until the very end. With Texas being the key state and deciding at the end to cast votes for Sprite. The results of our election are shown below.
In the popular vote, Sprite led 15 to 14. Wow! Tight race.
